Staying in Indio for festival weekends

The Empire Polo Club sits in Indio, not Palm Springs, and that distinction matters more than most visitors realise. Every one of our homes is within about two miles of the festival grounds, a five to ten minute drive on a normal day, and the nearest are close enough that some guests simply walk. That means you can go back to the house between sets instead of committing to a full day on the grounds.

Two things worth knowing if you are booking for a festival weekend:

• Book early. The big festival weekends are the first dates to go every year, usually within days of the lineup announcement.
• Expect a longer minimum stay. Festival weekends carry a longer minimum than a normal weekend. The exact minimum for your dates shows in the booking widget once you select them.

If you are splitting the cost across a group, the per-person maths on a 9-bedroom house sleeping 18 usually lands below what the same group would pay for hotel rooms, and you get a kitchen, a pool, and somewhere to actually sit together.
