For groups doing serious bulk shopping, especially Coachella and Stagecoach weekends, the La Quinta Costco is the closest warehouse to our Indio properties at about 15 minutes away. Worth the trip if you're already a member: the wine and spirits selection is strong, and the gas station out front usually undercuts the rest of the valley by 30 to 40 cents a gallon. Hours are weekdays 10am to 8:30pm, Saturdays until 7pm, Sundays until 6pm.

Stater Bros

The closest full grocery store to most of our Indio properties, about five minutes up Highway 111 at Madison Street. Stater Bros is a Southern California chain that's been around since 1936, with all the basics you'd expect plus a real butcher counter and a solid deli. Good for everyday shopping when you don't need a Costco run. No membership required.

Ralphs Fresh Fare

The Ralphs Fresh Fare in Indio's Citrus Plaza is the upscale option of the three, with a stronger organic and prepared-foods selection, a real seafood counter, and a wine department that runs discounts on six-bottle purchases. Open every day from 5am to 1am, which is the one to know about if you're arriving late or running out of coffee before sunrise. There's a Starbucks inside too.
